Supervisor Chantel Austin

"Hello my name is Chantel Austin, and I am the supervisor here at Little Bloomers Child Care Centre. I have attended George
Brown College in 2009 and graduated on the dean’s list in 2011. I have been a Registered Childhood Educator for the last 6 years, and worked with children varying in ages from 15 months to 10 years old. I have experience developing curriculum in play-based learning as well as high-scope and emergent curriculum. I love working with children because they inspire me to constantly learn new things, they are always excited to learn and that makes working with them even more enjoyable. When I am not working with children I like to read, travel, and go camping with my ever expanding family. I am excited to be part of this amazing team and change the lives of children every day."

ECE Gabrielle Jacques

"Enthusiastic, creative, warm, sensitive, trustworthy, simple, patient. Here I am for you and your children. My name is Gabrielle Jacques and I am a RECE. I graduated in Cegep Ste-Foy in Quebec and I just moved to Brampton 2 months ago. So, oui, je parle français! I will speak and sing songs in French to your children so that they can learn this beautiful language. I have learned my English in Manitoba, where I spent a year working in an English school, making and doing French activities with kids. I now have three years of experiences in daycares in Quebec, and I am very excited about having much more in Ontario. Outside of my job, I like to be active and spend time outdoors. I love books, music, breakfasts, blueberries and having good times with the ones I love. It will be a pleasure meeting you and your family!"

ECA Danika Applin

"Hey there, my name is Danika Applin. I went to the University of Guelph for Sociology, and I am very interested in child development and mental health. One day, I hope to be working with children who have experienced childhood traumas, perhaps developing new methods of therapy. For the past year, I have worked as an ECEA at the University of Guelph’s Childcare and Learning Centre. Much of my life has been spent in childcare, with a long history of babysitting leading up to the present. I spend a great deal of my time with my niece and nephew, who inspire me every day with their positivity and curiosity. I love spending time outdoors, so when I’m not at work, you can often find me at a beach or on a hiking trail! I also love art and DIY projects. If I can figure out a way to make it, I will! I’ve been told my natural compassion and patience makes me perfect for work with children."

ECE Tiana Curtis

"Hello! My name is Tiana Curtis and I am a recent graduate in the two year Early Childhood Education program. I completed my schooling at Sheridan College in Brampton. I am also first aid and CPR certified. During my schooling I was able to gain hands on experience at three different placement sites where I worked with children 2-4 years of age. I have always loved working with children and knew from a young age that this was the perfect career choice for myself. I also have experience working with school age children through high school co-op. I loved having the opportunity to work with children in varying age groups, as it provided an opportunity for me to experience different levels of growth. As an educator I will observe, teach, and learn from the children. I believe that all children learn in different ways and at their own pace. Therefore I will provide support and care for all children in order to help them succeed. Children are the people of tomorrow, I feel that they are strong and capable of achieving anything they set their minds to."
